This update expands player expression with new avatar options, refines core gameplay balance and farming, introduces World Gen V2 templates for creators, and delivers a substantial set of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes to stabilize your adventure.
Cosmetics & Character Customization
- New Appearance Options: Added Bandit Mask, Blindfold variants, Bandage Blindfolds, Vampire Mouth, Cute Mouth, and Orc Mouth.
- Color & Style Updates: Added white to fantasy cotton colors. Updated visuals for multiple hairstyles including Single Side Pigtail, Fighter Buns, and Windswept.
- Armor Visibility Toggle: New in-panel toggles to show/hide equipped armor. Server hosts can control this feature for PvP or immersion rules.
- Animation Polish: Improved cape animations during player running.
Gameplay, Items & Balance Changes
- New Necromancy Item: A new item that raises skeletal minions from bone piles, with a chance to drop from the large Praetorian Skeleton.
- Mining Progression Rework:
- Adamantite now requires a Thorium or Cobalt pickaxe.
- Lower-tier pickaxes deal significantly less damage to higher-tier ores.
- Upgrading pickaxes dramatically reduces the number of hits needed to mine.
- Creature Adjustments: Buffed Polar Bears. The Magma Toad's tongue damage reduced; it now alternates between tongue attacks and a new Headbutt ability.
- Loot & Crafting Updates:
- Bison, Boar, Cow, Horse, and Warthog now drop Medium Hide instead of Light Hide.
- Petals are now craftable (Textiles category), making all colored Petals and lighter Cloth Block variants renewable.
- Added more decorative light recipes to the Furniture Bench.
World Generation & Modding
- World Gen V2 Prepared: Public documentation released to aid modders.
- New World Templates: Added Default_Flat and Default_Void templates using World Gen V2. The Creative Hub Portal now uses this flat worldgen.
- Ore Placement Refactor: Complete overhaul of ore distribution across all zones. Explore new chunks in existing worlds to find more ores, especially in Devastated Lands.
Farming System Improvements
- Crop Protection: Eternal crops no longer break from accidental weapon damage.
- Soil & Mechanics:
- Increased tilled soil lifetime to 1.2-1.5 days. Fixed soil decay under fully grown crops.
- Can now hold a torch in the offhand while using a Hoe or Seeds.
- Breaking fully grown Eternal crops returns their Seeds.
- Harvested crops can be placed on the ground while crouching.
- Tool Rebalancing: Adjusted Hoe recipe costs and unlock tiers. Copper Hoe now Tier 2, Iron Hoe Tier 4, and added a Thorium Hoe at Tier 6.
User Interface & Experience (UI/UX)
- Visual Clarity: Improved editor block tooltips. Hotbar active-slot now has higher contrast and a diamond indicator for better visibility in bright biomes.
- Menu Improvements: Avatar color options now display color names on hover. Memory categories at The Heart of Orbis are sorted alphabetically.
- Inventory & Controls:
- Better double-click and shift-click handling (shift-click equips armor to empty slots).
- Added QERT keyboard shortcuts for inventory quick actions (Put All, Pull All, Quickstack, Sort).
- “Pick block” (middle-click) in Creative mode now replaces the current slot if inventory is full.
- Map & Compass:
- Player markers now display on the compass and map with persistent names.
- Added height indicators (up/down arrows) on the compass. Added toggle buttons for map/compass visibility.
- New Options: Added an FPS counter overlay (General > UI settings) and an Ophidiophobia accessibility mode that replaces Snake models with Hatworms.
- Creative Tools: Quality-of-life updates for Scripted Brushes, including new decoration/cave brushes and bug fixes.
Audio, Visual Effects & Bug Fixes
- Audio: Added missing Rex sounds, updated bones drag/drop sound, fixed a cave soundtrack bug in Howling Sands, updated all food particle tints.
- Technical & Stability:
- Introduced a new server auto-update system with configurable options and /update commands.
- Major improvements to server stability, validation, networking (ECS), localization, and timeout handling.
- Fixed mantling detection, bed respawning in unloaded chunks, rail cart placement, and teleporter collision offsets.
- Gameplay Fixes: Fixed oversized item previews, Berserker haircut texture, glasses lens highlights. Added permissions to prevent unauthorized world map teleporting.
- Content Fixes: Restored soundtracks and fixed environments in Emerald Wilds dungeon and other areas.
